About the Item

Imagine a villa on the coast of Barcelona, or a southwestern chateau in New Mexico… What do these places have in common? Both of these locales would accommodate this Spanish-style campaign chair. With a utilitarian folding frame and sculptural silhouette, this piece has been both refinished and redesigned at Aulde by our principal designer, Alec Broughton. The original worn, tattered leather seat has been replaced with Scottish Highland cattle hide, and a bespoke hair on bolster neck cushion was fabricated in our studio to add an extra level of elegance and comfort to this classic design. Neck pillow can be left on for display or removed for comfort. Good condition. Wear is consistent with age. Expect minor scratches, dings, knicks, scrapes to oak frame and leather backrest. Discoloration is apparent as described in photographs. Hair-on-hide is a raw, natural material, and as such will have some matting with curls, and also has a slight odor due to the tanning process. Hide should also be brushed periodically.
