I also have the Stewart Linford Trafalgar Bicentenary Windsor stool listed under my other items
What a find, I have never seen another of these, it is pure art furniture from top to bottom, I don’t really know where to begin when describing this piece but here goes! From the top, the chair is made from Burr Oak and Copper from H.M.S Victory Admiral Nelson’s flagship vessel, it has a plaque in copper on the base which reads
ENGLAND EXPECTS THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY
CRAFTED BY STEWART LINFORD FURNITURE MAKERS USING OAK
COPPER FROM H.M.S VICTORY
Also on the base is the signature carved into the timber of Stewart Linford, High Wycombe along with the stamp of the chap carving timber
On the back of the chair seat you have Victory Chair 34 of 200 carved, the top of the back rest has a large carving of H.M.S Victory in full sail, the back rest rails are Corinthian pillars with super decorations to the sides depicting ropes and finished with anchors, the front legs also have a kind of rope decoration finished with larger anchors. The seat base is heavily burred, I just love everything about this chair and hope it never sells!
Documentation wise you have the large A3 certificate, the original purchase receipt and a book showing some of the more amazing pieces and lastly a couple of other pamphlets etc
