The Levíssima Chair by Bruno de Carvalho is a poetic expression of visual lightness, inspired by Joaquim Tenreiro’s refined modernist legacy. Evolving from its original “Leve” design, this version swaps carbon steel for aluminum, earning its name—Levíssima (“ultra-light”). Its unique mixed structure of solid wood and aluminum allows the rear legs to connect solely at the backrest, creating a striking sense of suspension. The seat and backrest, expertly crafted in leather, appear to float within the aluminum frame, emphasizing the designer’s minimalist vision. Elegantly balanced and structurally inventive, this chair is both a functional seat and a sculptural statement.
