Banquito Olivar, Version One, is the first iteration of a versatile and minimalist bench designed to complement the Olivar Collection. The piece is crafted with a hand applied tadelakt finish, resulting in a smooth and durable surface that encourages tactile engagement while maintaining an elegant and understated presence. Its restrained form highlights proportion and materiality, aligning with a contemporary design language rooted in simplicity.
Version One emerged from an in depth exploration and learning process during the prototyping phase. Through direct experimentation with tadelakt, a traditional Moroccan plastering technique, valuable insights were gained into the behavior and performance of the material. This hands on process informed decisions related to texture, finish, and longevity, allowing the designers to achieve a careful balance between aesthetic refinement and durability.
The bench reflects a thoughtful, process driven approach to design, where material experimentation plays a central role. The result is a piece that is quietly expressive, resilient, and adaptable to a range of interior contexts, while remaining closely connected to craftsmanship and material knowledge.
