About the Item

This model is called Z-chair. Designed in 1968 in the GDR by Ernst Moeckl and Siegfried Mehl, German Version of the Panton chair. Also called kangaroo chair or variopur chair. Produced in eastern Germany. The z.stuhl, designed by Ernst Moeckl (1931-2013) in the 1970s, is a cantilever chair made of polyurethane, which is available with and without armrests. In the vernacular, the chair is known by its geometry-related names such as "squatting man", "kangaroo" and "Z-chair". Chair is after full renovation, glossy blue lilac color lacquer (RAL 4005). The chair is extremely comfortable! Beautiful organic shape make them timeless and fits to every interior. We can prepare also set of 4 or 6 or more, also in another RAL/Pantone color.

In 1956, he designed the S Chair which can be considered a forerunner of the Panton chair. He saw it as an item of furniture in which the back, seat and legs were made of the same material and in one continuous piece. It was first produced in 1965. Panton made a series of sketches and design drawings for the Panton chair in the 1950s. In 1960, he created his first model, a plaster-cast, in collaboration with Dansk Akrylteknik.
