About the Item

Theater chair designed by Carlo Mollino for the 1952 renovation of the RAI (Radiotelevisione Italiana) Auditorium. The armchair is completely original, no restorations have taken place. It retains its original seat number. About the designer: Carlo Mollino (1905–1973) was an Italian architect, designer, and photographer known for his diverse body of work. He was born in Turin, Italy, and became one of the leading figures in mid-20th-century Italian design. Mollino was renowned for his innovative and eclectic approach, contributing to various fields such as architecture, furniture design, and photography. His works are highly collectible and feature in any museums and private collections worldwide. Materials: Velvet, wood, brass Condition: Good vintage, signs of age on the velvet, as per images.
