Chair 01 belongs to the Disguise Series 00 collection, a fascinating family of pieces conceived by Madrid-based ESTO Studio. These works play at the boundary between furniture and imaginary creatures, transforming the everyday into something extraordinary.
The internal structure of the chair is built from curved tubular steel, a recognizable skeleton that serves as the foundation of the object. Yet, its true identity emerges from the hand-crafted textile cover, composed of pointed, organic forms that evoke natural morphogenetic processes, subtle variations within repetition that generate living, dynamic patterns.
This textile “disguise” grants the chair a hybrid presence: part functional object, part mythological being. Each piece acquires its own character, a visual voice that interacts with and transforms the surrounding space.
With Chair 01, ESTO Studio materializes its reflection on disguise as an act of transformation, dressing a familiar form to reinterpret it, infusing it with soul, tension, and mystery. The piece invites not only to sit, but to contemplate, to question, and to feel.
