About the Item

Dilmos Milan - Scomposta Chair A striking encounter between conceptual design and functional sculpture, the Scomposta chair by Dilmos Milano stands out for its radical approach to form and function. Composed of two distinct elements - seat and backrest - it deliberately separates the components that traditionally define a chair, redefining the relationship between body, object, and architectural space. The seat, crafted in wood and upholstered with resin-coated canvas, rests freely within the space, while the backrest, made of polyurethane and also upholstered in resin-coated canvas, is designed to be mounted on the wall. This design choice creates a new visual and physical dialogue, transforming the act of sitting into an experience in itself. Founded in Milan in 1980, Dilmos is a design gallery operating at the intersection of art and furniture, specializing in unique pieces and limited editions. Each creation is selected for its narrative strength and its ability to express a distinctive design vision. Details: Seat: Wood upholstered in resin-coated canvas Dimensions: 43 × 33 × H 44 cm (16.93 × 12.99 × H 17.32 in) Backrest: Polyurethane upholstered in resin-coated canvas, wall-mounted Dimensions: 43 × 6 × H 81 cm (16.93 × 2.36 × H 31.89 in) A collectible piece for discerning collectors, architects, and design enthusiasts-an object that transcends mere function to become a statement of aesthetic and cultural intent.
