About the Item

Great Chippendale chair with beautifully executed curves in finely grained wood. The Chippendale style was part of the English answer on French Rococo and incorporated oriental, classical and even gothic details. This resulted in a iconic look which has survived to this day. In this example a master furniture maker interpreted this style with perfect proportions, admirable craftmanship and a clear love for his trade.
