Chippensteel 0.5 is fine example of blending FiDU process and craftmanship. The 2D form is cut from metal sheet and goes through welding and inflanting, becoming three dimensional functional chair. The finishing touch by designer and craftsman gives it a final beauty. The latest, optimal form of Chippensteel 0.5 emerge of many experiments, prototypes and design processes.
Chippensteel chair can be produced in different materials. They maintain the original lightness and form thanks to FiDU technology but contain the uniqueness of used metal.
Design of Chippensteel 0,5, although optimized for mass production, maintain the uniqness of FiDU technology. Every chair has one of a kind details and folds that show us the true properties of used steel sheets. This is what we call “the controll of lost controll”.
Chippensteel 0.5 is available in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and copper with the following finish options;

About the artist/ designer:
Oskar Zieta – an architect, designer, artist and innovator. Born in 1975, after he graduated architecture at Szczecin University of Technology in 2000, he has got a scholarship at ETH Zurich. Over the course of 2 years of postgraduate studies he developed skills in parametric design and modern manufacturing technologies finalized with PhD graduation. Currently he runs the department of industrial design at School of Form. Laureate of many prestigious awards in design and technology. Inventor of FiDU - inner pressure metal forming technology - the keystone to Zieta Collection, Zieta Out of Ordinary as well as large scale sculptures like NAWA on Daliowa Island in Wroclaw and WIR in Galeria Pólnocna in Wroclaw.

Oskar Zieta has been awarded the AUDI – Mentor-Price 2011, the Red Dot Award 2008, DMY Award for Innovation in production process 2008, the YDMI 2008, the German Design Council Prize 2009, the Forum Aid Awards 2009, Technology Award Materialica 2009, MUST HAVE Design Lódz 2011 and was nominated to Mies Van Der Rohe Award 2019, the Schweizer Design Preis 2009 and the Dobry Wzór 2009.
His designs carved out their way into numerous prestigious collections including Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Zurich Design Museum and the Baden State Museum In Karlsruhe.
Oskar Zieta is a CEO of Zieta Studio established in 2010 in Wroclaw. The company is an interdisciplinary team of architects, designers, engineers and technologists as well as production line and industrial implementation workers. Specialists in many fields are permanent collaborators of Zieta Studio - psychologists, biologists, scientists and many others. FiDU Innovation Lab develops its own, innovative technologies of stabilizing sheet metal, i.e. FiDU and 3+ and their application to modern architecture, engineering and design.

Plopp stool is an icon and a bestseller of Zieta Prozessdesign. The unique, toy-looking and playful shape of Plopp is an effect of an innovative forming method, FIDU.
