About the Item

Circa 1900 set of five Louis XVI style chairs made from walnut. The curved backs have molded frames and have hand cast brass decorative accents. There are laurel wreaths and swags at the top and crossed ribbons intermittently on the sides. The chairs retain the original caning and the appearance of the set is charming and yet still elegant. The seats of the chairs have molded edges for added depth and are supported on hand turned and fluted legs in the front and simple splayed legs in the back.
