Founders was founded in 2003 by IDA Linea and Rasmus Hilderbrand in Copenhagen, Denmark.
For this couple, designing and creating is a "geometrical performance act”. The lines and shapes are sleek and pure; often organic. And sometimes, it contrasts with the masculinity of the materials used, as marble or metal. The creations signed by Friends
Founders may look simple. In reality, the pieces are a perfect balance between functional comfort and elegance of lines and design.
The FF COLLECTION was developed with a focus on sustainability. At first glance the FF chairs might resemble the common steel-tube chairs that have adorned private and public spaces for generations. But the intention is far more thoughtful and rooted in a consideration of sustainable production in furniture. The FF CHAIR possesses a number of sustainability merits. In considering durability and the life-cycle of the FF CHAIR the frame was built to last a decade at the very least. As upholstery components become worn or outdated the FF CHAIR was crafted with upholstered parts that can easily be removed and recycled. Without reproducing its structural elements a re-upholstered chair gets a new look and new life.
