Sculptural Collectible Chair in Crushed Wine Bottle Glass and Resin – Handmade by Aparentment Studio, Barcelona
Unique and handcrafted collectible design chair made from crushed wine bottle glass compacted with resin. Designed by the internationally recognized design studio Aparentment, based in Barcelona, this sculptural piece belongs to the Ressaca Collection, originally produced for the Mayrit Architecture and Design Biennial held in Madrid, 2022.
This bold design reflects a speculative future where humanity’s only remaining natural resources are its own waste. Sparkling yet dangerous, the fractured glass forms an eccentric, immersive space. With a provocative balance of utility and visual tension, this limited-edition chair is both an art object and a design statement.
About the Designer
Josep Vila Capdevila, founder and creative director of Aparentment, is a multidisciplinary designer with a background in fashion, advertising, photojournalism, and music. Since launching his first acclaimed collection Marblelous in 2012, Vila has continued to explore innovative uses of noble, durable materials, championing sustainable local production. His work blends timeless elegance with avant-garde experimentation.
