About the Item
Designer Ben Erickson modeled his Slip chair after an antique African birthing chair from his personal furniture collection. “I found it at the African market in Harlem fifteen years ago,” he says of the rare find. The chair’s structure, which dates back to as early as 100 B.C., is slightly adjusted for modern-day. With a similar profile to the brand’s Tripod stool, the chair’s cerused White Oak legs are crafted into a cylindrical shape, balancing the reclined seat-back.
