About the Item
A lovely, early English oak side chair, probably mid eighteenth century, possibly nineteenth century. Mortise and tenon construction.
This chair has beautifully carved legs, stiles and back rails, and a gorgeous patina, with wear showing the hallmarks of age. The simplicity of its form means it would look great in both traditional or modern interiors. It is in good, solid condition with no wobbling or weakness.
The seat is made of two planks, and there is a tiny gap between them.
This chair looks wonderful in front of a table or desk, or as a lovely place to perch books or antiques.
