About the Item

Set of 8 (6 sides, 2 armchairs) Hepplewhite style hand carved solid mahogany dining chairs, with rounded crestrail and handsome hand carved and pierced central splat. Superb hand carved details including graduated bellflowers along the crestrail flanking an oval "Adam" sunburst medallion, circa 1850-1870. Handsome upholstered "saddle" shape seats. A/F 2 stiles (chairback supports) have evidence of professional repairs from long ago and priced accordingly Armchair dimensions: 40" H, 25" W (between the arms), 22.5" W (at front of seat), 16.75 " deep, 18.25 seat height.
