About the Item

A handsome and most decorative French 19th century Louis XV st. Oak vanity/desk chair. This wonderful caned armchair is raised on four elegant and slender cabriole legs with mottled designs and carved acanthus leaf feet. Each leg is joined to the scalloped apron, while continuing the mottled designs, and topped with a foliate reserve below the leather seat. Above are the scrolled arms with the same mottled designs leading to the arched back, while showcasing all the original caning across the entirety of the back support. All original patina and caning in excellent condition throughout.
