About the Item
These French ballroom chairs, dating to the mid 19th century, exemplify the grace and craftsmanship of the Second Empire period. These would make fabulous accent chairs!! Retaining their original blue-gray paint each chair features a beautifully shaped backsplat adorned with subtle floral detailing and gilt highlights that accent their timeless silhouette. The chairs retain their classic ballroom proportions--petite in size, they are light, graceful and easy to move--designed originally for formal entertaining and salon gatherings. Crafted with slender, turned legs and delicately carved frames. They have been more recently upholstered in a luminous silk strip fabric with decorative trim, offering a fresh, sophisticated presentation while remaining true to their French heritage. There are some small spots on the upholstery of one chair.
