French Louis XVI style caned seat and back carved oak vanity chair, c. 1920.
Charming chair beautifully carved with central rosettes, ribbon swag, acanthus leaf finials and scrolled details. It is set upon fluted tapered front legs and shapely back legs complementing its graceful, low profile form. The backrest has a double layer of cane. This well-crafted chair is structurally sound and sturdy with cane in good condition. It has patina to the wood frame with nicks and age appropriate wear. A beautiful chair with an elegant and space-conscious design.
