About the Item
A charming Italian early 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood slipper chair. The chair is raised by two topie shaped feet below circular fluted legs with finely carved top caps at the front and elegant lightly curved legs to the rear. Above each legs is a block rosette and most decorative mirrored design Vitruvian scrolls extend across the frieze. The cushioned back support displays most decorative scrolled top. All original gilt throughout.
