About the Item
A single accent chair by French Canadian designer Jacques Guillon. In 1952, he introduced his most iconic creation: the Cord Chair, now a treasured exhibit in renowned museums like those in Quebec and New York's Museum of Modern Art. Crafted during an era marked by technological strides spurred by the war, this chair ingeniously blended a seat crafted from nylon parachute cord, sourced from military surplus stores, with a frame meticulously fashioned from laminated wood originally designed for skis.
Condition: Needs repairs at the joint connected the back and base of the chair on the right side. Can still be sat in/is study but visually it is uneven as seen in pictures and reflected in the price. Other than that the wood and cords remain in good condition.
