About the Item

Lina Bo Bardi, Marcelo Ferraz Marcelo Suzuki "Girafa" Chair – Design 1986, Edition 2022 Signed “Baraúna” (branded) Originally designed in 1986 by Lina Bo Bardi in collaboration with Marcelo Ferraz and Marcelo Suzuki, the Girafa chair emerged from a desire to rethink modernist furniture with Brazilian materials and sensibility. Inspired by Alvar Aalto’s work for the Paimio Sanatorium, the designers reinterpreted the three-legged stool using solid Tauari wood instead of plywood, creating a new visual and structural language for Brazil. The Girafa chair—named for its tall, elegant profile—was the first in a series that later included benches, tables, and stools. This re-edition, produced in 2022 by Baraúna, preserves the original spirit and proportions. Dimensions: 44 x 39 x 79 cm (17 8/25 x 15 7/20 x 31 1/10 in)
