Sold here as a pair.
For sale here is a gorgeous pair of sculptural safari chairs imported from Africa in the 60's by our client who was an avid collector. These are hand carved versions of the safari chair modeled after the Scirocco Safari Chair by Arne Norell, a design classic from 1964. These ones are upholstered in high quality brown colored faux leather (Naugahyde) and their seat backs adjust up and down at various angles.
NOTE:
These chairs are one-of-a-kind and very rare.
The gorgeous mid century Sirocco chair was designed by Arne Norell in 1964. The exposed stained oak frame is constructed carefully using a tongue and groove architectural creation and further uses the support of slung leather. The beautiful original brown faux leather (Naugahyde) is in good used condition. There are some small imperfections and wear on the inside edges of the fabric, but overall it shows very well. The frame is in very good condition both aesthetically and functionally, no cracks or scratches, these are in very nice condition. You can personalize a new seat and seat back very easily if you would choose to use a different textile. The design is accented by brass buckles on the bottom.
