ALCÂNTARA is meant to be relaxing, for one to take a break from the stress of daily life, to read a book or have a conversation. Its simple, minimalistic and timeless shape allows it to fit in a variety of scenarios and atmospheres, making it a perfect piece for living spaces and offices alike. Made of plywood, the ALCÂNTARA chair is not only light and easy to move around, but also efficient and sustainable throughout the whole production process. Álvaro Siza points out the wholesome picture of sustainability within design, including aspects like usage, material resources, or waste volume in production. He underlines the benefits of plywood, fulfilling all these requirements, being a practical contemporary yet warm and elegant material. ALCÂNTARA chair is available in three different versions of wood: ash, oak or walnut and its cushions can be found in natural, brown and black leather.
