About the Item

Extraordinary pair of French Empire style mahogany chairs featuring a tub or gondola form frame. Minimally decorated having a curved back, vasiform back splat surmounted by a curved crest rail. Gracefully curved back supports conjoined to a red silk covered seat. The front sabre legs are curved in the manner of a klismos chair for a dramatic profile. Upholstered in Empire wreath red silk fabric. SH - 17.75, SD - 19", SW - 19" Acquired on a buying trip to France in 2019.
