About the Item

A commanding pair of mahogany Captains chairs or smokers bow armchairs with wide open arms. Each chair has a curved top rail leading to sweeping arms with beautifully turned upright supports. The wide shapely cut out back leads to a wide figured deep dish seat raised on substantial cabriole legs. In splendid condition of strong construction with good colour and patina which as a pair present wonderfully. Price is for the pair. English, circa 1870.
