About the Item

Set of two Plona model chairs, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in 1969. An icon of Italian design, the Plona is one of the most innovative folding chairs of the twentieth century, thanks to the die-cast aluminum structure and the resin seat/backrest that allow a fluid opening and considerable space savings. The genius of the project lies in the compass mechanism and the mono-material design of the surfaces, which give the chair a light, almost architectural appearance. When folded, the Plona becomes extremely compact; When open, it offers surprising stability and superior comfort compared to traditional foldables. The set is in good condition with normal signs of aging.
