About the Item
The Toga chair was a product of 1960s nonconformity and space-age optimism in technological innovation. It was produced in 1968 by Sergio Mazza (b. 1931) as a complete piece of moulded fibreglass. The chair exemplifies the architect-trained designer’s fascination with high-tech processes and pioneering aesthetics, much of which was inspired by the fast-changing cultural scene he lived through. A model of the Toga chair is enshrined in the Victoria
Albert Museum in London.
In good vintage condition, with some light discolouration. Small chip to front left hand side and slight crack to bottom right hand side.
