A striking set of four original "Plia" folding chairs designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in the 1970s. These iconic chairs embody the sleek, space-saving elegance of mid-century Italian design. Featuring translucent smoked (bronze) lucite seats and backs paired with polished chrome frames, the Plia chair was a revolutionary design at the time—both for its aesthetic appeal and innovative triple-fold mechanism.

Giancarlo Piretti
Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums, including MoMA, New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with his son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
