About the Item

Osvaldo Borsani, Tecno Italy, chairs, 1950s, collector's item These 6 folding chairs are a once-in-a-lifetime set. The chairs, model S88, were designed in 1956 by the renowned Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno. These unique and elegant folding chairs feature a black tubular steel frame, with the seat and backrest crafted from plywood with a teak veneer. The frame is constructed from blackened steel, featuring a Tecno label on the back side and the classic Tecno “T” on the side of the seat. The chair has gained recognition for its innovative design and has been included as part of the collection at the prestigious Vitra Design Museum. Being featured here is a testament to the chair's significance and influence within the design community. We also like to mention the incredible but true story: these chairs were rescued from a brutal fate in a dumpster and have since been professionally restored to be cherished once again. This truly is a collector's item and could be an amazing addition to your (customer's) collection. Check out our Daddy Deco storefront for more sculptural, architectural mid-century design items.

Augusto Bozzi Ariston dining chairs Saporiti Italy 1954
By Saporiti, Augusto Bozzi
Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Highly rare and beautiful set of 6 so called ‘Ariston’ dining chairs designed by Augusto Bozzi and manufactured by Saporiti, Italy 1954. These chairs have a pressed plywood seat which is finished with teak veneer at the front and back, the black painted metal wire frame supports the seats. The structure provides stability and also a nice contrast with the deep coloured plywood seats. The seats are only connected to the base with 2 screws which are decoratively worked away in the seat, but these details also support the aesthetics of the design. This style was popular in the 1950s. Bozzi was one of the designers who gained credits for his designs during that period, putting Saporiti on the map and becoming one of the big players...
