About the Item

A matched set of four Queen Anne style side chairs, with urn-shaped pierced back splats. The wood furniture has great character - well constructed and solid, with a rustic handmade quality. Some light tool marks and vague asymmetry show the hand of the maker/s and take these chairs out of the realm of typical mass production, and remind us they are individually crafted objects, however practical their purpose. Charming details such as the heart-shaped cut outs on the back splat add to the sets personality. They are still upholstered in original (or at least period) fabric of light blue silk damask, with a design featuring vegetation and what appear to be pomegranates. The upholstery is in varying states of wear (as seen in the pictures), and can either be replaced - or preserved for a unique "shabby chic" vibe.
