About the Item

Chairs from the series I MEDITERRANEI – LOVE DIFFERENCE by Michelangelo Pistoletto and Juan Esteban Sandoval (Italy, 2009). This set comprises six Laleggera model chairs, originally designed by Riccardo Blumer for Alias, here transformed into a unique artwork conceived and signed by Michelangelo Pistoletto and Juan Esteban Sandoval. The project belongs to the broader I Mediterranei – Love Difference initiative, which celebrates cultural dialogue and interconnectedness through artistic form. The complete series is made up of 248 chairs which, when positioned in the correct order, trace the profiles of six different seas: the Mediterranean, the Baltic, the Caribbean, the Black, the Red, and the South China Sea. Each chair thus becomes both an autonomous object and part of a larger cartographic and conceptual design. The present six chairs belong specifically to the Caribbean Sea group, evoking the outline of its shores. Dimensions: 44 × 49 × 79 cm (H).
