This is a small antique Windsor chair. An English, oak apprentice piece redolent of the High Wycombe school of miniature furniture, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870. Superb chair realized in the miniature Displays a desirable aged patina Oak shows fine grain interest Rich hues to the wax polish finish Classic Windsor chair with sinuous, arching top rail Four stick backs finely carved to evoke bamboo Stout seat base with wisps of medullary rays Raised upon four carved legs and united by H-stretchers This small antique chair is a fascinating example of apprentice sample furniture, with the exacting quality of a full size piece in miniature. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
