About the Item
A very fine pair of 19th Century well figured, mahogany hall chairs, fabulous hand carved with gorgeously rich patination and grain. The shaped and pierced shield back with exquisite motif detail comprising of a beautifully shaped shield with scroll detail to the central reserve bordered with scroll and trailing foliate exquisitely carved in high relief. Raised over shaped and moulded seat supported on elegant outswept legs to the rear and tapering ring turned legs to the fore.
