Philippe Starck (b. 11949) Miss Milch Chair, ca. 1987 Edition Idee, Tokyo, Japan Profiled steel sheet, lacquered in metallic gray and blue This model was produced by Idee exclusively for the Japanese market. According to a close associate of the company's founder, around twenty chairs were produced. This piece is among the rarest and most exclusive pieces by the French designer Philippe Starck, produced for the Japanese market only this chair can be seen as a tribute to Jean Prouvé with a manga twist. Provenance: Private Collection, Tokyo, Japan A similar model is in the collections of the Centre Pompidou, Paris, France. H. 79 x W. 33 x D. 51 cm H. 31 1/8 x W. 13 x D. 20 1/8 in.
