About the Item
Folding cane chairs by Pompis follow the ingenious 'baston-silla' (stick-chair) concept inspired by Ivan Loss's 'Ulisse' design. Green enameled tubular metal frames curve upward to form walking cane-style handles that double as backrests. Gray molded plastic seats nestle within the tripod-style folding base structure. The design transforms a functional walking stick into portable seating through clever engineering.
These chairs exemplify late twentieth-century Italian design innovation, where everyday objects merge with furniture. The folding mechanism allows compact storage while the enameled finish provides durability. Rubber feet protect floors and ensure stability. Two pieces available, sold individually.
Chairs show wear consistent with age and use. The green enamel displays surface scratches and areas where the finish has worn through. Gray seats show minor discoloration and surface marks. Original condition with well-preserved folding mechanisms.
