About the Item

An early 19th Century French Louis XVI style duchesse en bateau, or chaise longue by master furniture maker Pierre Pillot (1748-1822) of Nîmes. Solid walnut frame with hand-carved details and brass nail head trim. Upholstery is in serviceable condition. Stamped PILLOT to underside. Restoration on two of the legs. Circa 1800-1820.
