A beautifully restored Sherz lounge chair, an iconic 19th-century adjustable reclining chaise originally designed for therapeutic relaxation and convalescence.
This piece features a mechanical reclining system, operated by the original wooden handwheel mounted on a solid hardwood base. By turning the wheel, the angle of the backrest can be adjusted for maximum comfort—a feature highly innovative for its time.
The frame retains its classic Victorian silhouette, with gently rolled arms, a tufted backrest, and an elongated chaise seat designed to support the legs fully. The chair is newly upholstered in a soft neutral linen, complementing the rich patina of the hardwood base and wheel mechanism.
