About the Item
This antique chaise lounge is an elegant and sculptural piece to the 19th century. The gracefully scrolled ends are beautifully proportioned and supported by finely shaped, outward sweeping legs, reflecting the classical revival's emphasis on balance, symmetry and restraint. Crafted in warm-toned hardwood, the frame retains a timeless presence that pairs effortlessly with both traditional and more layered, collected interiors
The chaise is upholstered in a neutral tailored textile with coordinating bolster cushions, allowing the refined form of the piece to take centerstage while remaining inviting. This is a versatile piece that would do well in an entry, a bedroom, library or foot of a bed. It is a sophisticated example of 19th century American neoclassical furniture--elegant, architectual and enduring in its appeal.
