About the Item

A beautiful French 18th century Louis XV period walnut Récamier chaise lounge. The lounge chair is raised by elegant cabriole legs with fine scrolled feet and a lovely carved fillet which extends up each leg and along the scalloped shape frieze. The frieze displays charming finely detailed flowers and leaves. At the foot of the chaise are upholstered panels framed within a scrolled border decorated with additional charming floral carvings. The head displays a winged back design with an elegant scrolled movement and matching floral carvings. Also finished and upholstered at the back.
