About the Item

Beautiful and intriguing lounge chair made and designed by Novo Rumo, Brazil 1960s. This lounge chair is unique in its kind, although you could say it was inspired by the Paulistana chair from Jorge Zalszupin, it also has similarities to the iconic lounge chair by Charles and Ray Eames. This chair made by Novo Rumo in the 1960s, clearly has its own characteristics and proportion. It is a beautiful example of the refined style and craftsmanship where Novo Rumo Stood for. It was an atelier which was thriving during the 1950s and 1960s in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The shell made of rosewood veneer on a minimalist structure od metal, finished with solid wood to create a unique look and well finished whole. This lounge chair comes with its original ottoman, and it is a great set which shares the same finishes in rosewood shells which look like skeletal fins along the back and bottom. This is a very rare and hard to find piece of Brazilian design, especially in this museal condition, it is still fully original and amazing condition. The dark green leatherette upholstery shows only minimal wear at the top, reupholstery can be done upon request. The rosewood parts are still in stunning condition and have amazing dramatic looking flames running through the rosewood. It gives the chair an extra dimension and makes it beautiful from all sides. This chair can for sure make a difference in every ambiance. Like all our upholstered pieces these can also be newly upholstered to your admiration.
