About the Item
A keyhole backed outdoor lounge from W. R. Dallas's line of Texas Roped Iron Furniture.
Founded and patented in 1929 in San Antonio Texas this is a very popular Texan furniture.
This example probably dates from the late 1940s or earlier the axle and rear wheels were missing and it had a lot of wear which is what led me this dating.
The armrest framing could also have held raised ponderosa pine inserts or be continuously wrapped in cord to provide a comfortable armrest that would not be too hot when left outdoors in south Texas, I can't say for sure.
The chaise is in very good restored condition having been re-lacquered, the rear axle and wheels replaced, re-corded in a flag pole cord of cotton poly and is visually striking.
