An statement seat carved in precious Burl wood.
Monumental modernist piece, created in America back in the 1960. This seat has been carefully carved in one single piece of Burl wood and rest in three legs integrated to the design. Actually is very comfortable and the contour organic design fits perfectly to the human body. The carving is incredible since the artist exploited the veins of the wood with its brown and golden tones. It is truly beautiful and will make a statement anywhere in the home. Minimal normal restoration and gently polished.

Burl
Burl is a grain characteristic that happens in many types of wood. Burlwood results from harvesting a tree or a portion of a tree that has a burl. A burl is a growth on a tree formed from unsprouted bud tissue. The burl forms large, knobby-looking growths on the base and trunk of the tree. Burls are typically found on the trunk or branches of trees, but they can also occur on the roots. Burls are composed of many small fibers that are all growing in different directions. This gives them a unique appearance, and it also makes them very strong. Amboyna burl is among the world's rarest and most expensive veneers—holding the distinction of being the original wood used on Rolls Royce dashboards. Leaves are small in dimension due to the small size of the burl.
Condition: The overall condition of this chair is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no structural damage to the wood. All parts are secured and the piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.

A 19th century erotical secret box.
Extremely rare erotic sculpture from the 19th century, most probably created in France, circa 1870. This is a sculptural box depicting a woman sitting on a woven wood basket. The sculpture represents a small discrete treasure chest to keep jewels. It was masterfully crafted from pieces of cream and brown wood carvings and is fitted with a screwable part to reveal the interior. This is an outstanding object, unobtainable on the antique market and of high collecting.
