About the Item
Incredibly comfortable, exuberant, and superbly made pair of Danish lounge chairs perfectly capturing the essence of 1940s Danish design coming out of the Art Deco era and into the midcentury. The curved backrests and low slung proportions and block feet in beechwood were made to match the curved "banana" sofas that were all the rage in the 1930s and early 1940s. Most likely manufactured circa 1938-1945, as this style chairs were seen in manufacturer's catalogs from that time period. While the curved sofas from the era are a little more common the chairs are rare. The overall condition is very good. The chairs were reupholstered in a wool fabric at a later point and remains in usable condition. We do recommend reupholstery, however, which we can offer in-house at a very competitive price.
