About the Item
A beautiful old Chesterfield-style armchair, better known as a wing chair, made from an oak base and upholstered in brown leather. The backrest is tufted, dating from the first half of the 20th century.
These armchairs were typically placed near an open fire. The large side pieces, known as "wings," were designed to retain the radiant heat of the fire and provide protection from drafts. You can imagine how cozy that must have been. Moreover, this armchair is very comfortable; the seat is of high quality and will last for many years to come.
The leather has a unique and distinctive patina, decoratively weathered in all the right places over the years. Very desirable!
The armchair is in excellent used condition, with signs of age and wear consistent with its age. No holes or tears, just a few superficial cracks in the leather due to age. Signs of wear are on the wooden legs. Check the photos for more details!
