About the Item
Pair of sublime large scale club chairs very similar to Fritz Hansen's famous model 1518 and likely made in the early 1940s. One chair is slightly taller than the other making them a pair of "his and hers". The chairs are unmarked and we are not aware of the Designer nor Maker. Raised on square legs made from beech. Superbly comfortable with dramatic low and wide proportions and a charming and very strong presence to anchor any room. Spring coils in the backrest and the seat. Overall very good sturdy condition. Reupholstered at a later point but are showing dirt and we recommend getting the chairs re-upholstered. We are able to reupholster the chair at a very attractive price and can recover in your fabric or a 100% Australian merino lambs wool and real shearling as an option.
