Antique French Leather Drop Arm Daybed Sofa, c. Early 20th Century.
A leather settee or small daybed. Upholstered in a rich, brown leather that exhibits a beautiful patina from age and use with nailhead design around the bottom and side perimeters and a diamond design in the center. Side panels recline slightly. A great looking worn piece.
28" deep x 58.5" wide x 31.5" high x 19" seat height
4" thick cushion.
Condition: leather cushion show worn patina from wear. Separation to the back seam. Fading, scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use.

"Of architectural form with geometric borders and inlaid with fruitwoods, ivory, mother of pearl and wire, the carved giltwood cresting rail in the form of serpents centred by a tablet inlaid with a winged bird, probably the symbol of the Egyptian Goddess, Nekhbet, clutching a payrus stalk, the padded back between two moulded cartouches depicting Horus and Iris, the arm supports in the form of Canopic jars surmounted by the head of Anubis, with a padded seat and shaped legs terminating in paw feet.
