About the Item

Beautiful oak daybed with croissilion headboards. Reminiscent of the more well-known "lit croissilion" or "lit simple". This specific bed was purchased in the mid-20th century in the Préfecture d'Oran, Algeria, where Jean Royère was active. Alongside its design and geographic origin, the assembly system of the bed is identical to beds made by Jean Royère. The mattress was replaced and fitted with a linen cover and two bolsters, all handcrafted in Belgium. Provenance: Préfecture d'Oran, Algeria, circa 1950 Normal wear and tear due to age - good vintage condition. Small signs of inactive woodworm.
