A Very Beautiful French Leather Daybed, France Early 20th Century, Club Chair
This early 20th century French leather banquette is simply gorgeous. It has four adjustable positions for you to enjoy. The function is easy and elegant, like most simple designs. The all-original Havana leather is wonderful with no rips or previous repairs. All the spring-work to the base has been restored and a fresh ticking slip added. The base itself has sprung edges, which is always a sign of quality. The original velvet cushions did not last the test of time and so replaced with an excellent cotton velvet, best described as bottle green. The inner was ticking and wool, again, beautiful quality. So, this daybed is not only beautiful but has the comfort and sophistication to match. A very lovely and rare thing indeed.

We specialise in original, French, leather club chairs. Even though our stock is quite consistent, finding original club chairs in a very good, original condition is a constant challenge. With our partners in France, we are always on the lookout and our chairs can be found anywhere from a local brocante to a chateau sale, from the north to the south of France.
In our experience, nearly all the chairs will need attention to the springs, after all they're not just objects of beauty, they are to be used. In addition, the leather on our chairs is always nourished and the upholstery cleaned.
