This remarkable wicker lounge chair transcends mere functionality—it embodies a harmonious blend of craftsmanship, aesthetics, and rarity. Crafted meticulously it stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to design excellence.
The chair is made with a base steel and leather strap on the rest of the chair made of bamboo.
The chair’s silhouette is a nod to mid-century design—a period when form and function danced in elegant unison. Its graceful lines, reminiscent of a stylized number seven, evoke nostalgia for an era where simplicity reigned supreme.
Recently, at the public auction by Piasa, this very chair commanded a remarkable price of €10,000.(see last picture!) Collectors and connoisseurs recognized its uniqueness—the convergence of design, history, and scarcity.
Completely restored new black paint and new leather straps the bamboo remains the same.
Very nice example of Dutch mid century modern design.
